EnerPlex Packr Commuter is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great idea - Bad implementation While the Enerplex backpack is a fantastic idea and the implementation of the solar panel is great, the quality of the backpack is closer to a trade show giveaway tote than a rugged outdoor or school pack. If this were implemented on a High Sierra Xbox edition, I'd buy it in a minute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love it! I bought this daypack right before I rode in Climate Ride California (5-day charity bicycle ride) in May 2016, to charge my cell phone during the trip. What a perfect application! You lean forward on the bike and put the solar panel right into the sun! And of course, at the rest stops, I set the pack in the sun. The instructions say, don't get the panel wet. Well, on day 1 of the ride, it rained. While the panel got a little wet, it still worked perfectly afterward. Mostly I think they don't want you to put the pack through the wash - don't immerse the panel in water. Also, don't bend it - it is a little bit delicate. Overall, I REALLY like this pack. I disagree with a previous comment about it being cheap construction. Seems well-made to me. Time will tell how well it holds up.

If the bag gets wet by rain, would it destroy the solar panels?

Asked by: CHRIS2EVAN
The solar panels will be absolutely fine! However, we cannot guarantee that if the junction box gets wet while electronics are plugged in to it, that no damage will come to the electronic components. Additionally, the materials and construction used on the Packrs are not designed to be waterproof.

On a bright, sunny day, what is a typical charge time for the power bank from empty to full?

Asked by: Justin
This will greatly depend on the capacity of the power bank you are charging. Assuming ideal conditions (i.e., the Packr is angled toward the sun and not behind a window), the Packr will output at around 600mA.Using the Packr to charge our Jumpr Mini (1,700mAh capacity) may as little as 3.5 hours, while our Jumpr Prime 10400 (10,400mAh capacity) may take around 19 hours to charge. You can see more charging time estimates for different power sources by visiting our Charge Time Calculator page, found under the All Products link at the top navigation bar.

Will it charge an iPhone?

Asked by: sharnelle72
Yes! Our Packr series will charge an iPhone. To get the best performance, ensure that you have direct, uninterrupted sunlight or consider pairing this with one of our Jumpr rechargeable batteries.

Since there is a charging pass-through for the laptop sleeve does that mean it will charge my laptop?

Asked by: Will Ferrell
No it will not- The tablet sleeve is ONLY a protective Sleeve for your tablet. The reference charging port is a slit in the tablet sleeve that allows you to thread a charging cable through to allow to keep your tablet inside the sleeve during charging.

What's the difference between this bag and the Executive bag?

Asked by: Shelly
The Commuter has more water bottle holders, is made of a tougher material (feels like neoprene), and is great for the outdoors. We'd recommend the Commuter to students and Outdoor Enthusiasts while we recommend the Executive for business people, frequent travelers, and more.
