People ask, what makes the Kickr™ II portable solar charger so flexible, and durable? It's the CIGS solar technology they're made with. While most solar, like monocrystalline is placed on a glass substrate which makes the units heavy, rigid, and very breakable, CIGS solar has the ability to place solar on a plastic backing. This allows the solar panels to be extremely flexible, super lightweight, and truly rugged. And this solar technology is patented so only EnerPlex sells these specific panels because our parent company Ascent Solar manufacures it.
The EnerPlex Kickr™ II portable solar charger can charge a variety of USB-enabled devices, up to tablets. Obvoiusly, the more solar cells that are exposed to the sun, the stronger the charge will be. Therefore, our Kickr™ II & Kickr™ II+ two cell 3.0 watt flexible solar panels (and solar charging case) would be our slowest charging Kickr panel (5V @ 0.6 Amps), while the Kickr™ IV & IV+ with their four cells (5V @ 1.2 Amps) can charge small electronic devices like iPhones & iPads at about the same rate as being plugged into the wall outlet. The Kickr™ II solar charger is great for adding solar to any backpack, golf bag... even a moutain bike. Our CIGS solar is also made here, in the USA.

I'm am currently in the Army and I REFUSE to deploy without mine. I have given these to everyone of my buddies in my squad, they are perfect for us when we are training in the fields. Anyone who loves the outdoors and doesn't like unplugging this is a MUST get. Very happy, great product.

12/12/14 I bought the panel & I ended up returning
12/12/14 I bought the pack and I ended up returning it because it didn't charge and it leaked water. I thought it was that specific pack so I bough the solar panel and that didn't work either. WHAT A LET DOWN. :(

Why whenever I plug my iPhone directly into the charger I always get the this accessory may not be supported Pop up?
Asked by: Mick
This message can appear when the voltage from the solar panel drops below Apple's approved threshold, such as when a cloud passes over the solar panel. To resolve this, simply unplug the panel, return it to full sunlight, and replug in the panel. To get the best performance out of your Kickr, always use the panel in direct sunlight (not through a window), ensure no shade covers any portion of the panel, and keep the panel angled toward the sun.

Is their a Kickr that is compatible with Nokia phones. Specifically the Lumia 1020.
Asked by: rey1
If your phone can accept power via USB, then it can be powered by the Kickr series! You can use the included USB to Micro USB cable or the USB cable which came with your phone when it was purchased to plug directly into the Kickr.

I have a kickr 2 when I plug my iphone 6 in it says "this accessory may not be supported". I am on ios 8.1.2. It is not the cable I have tried both official apple ones and also ones made by other companies. It does not work on any of my apple devices.
Asked by: fastboymax
The Kickr II is only able to put out a maximum of 0.6 amps, assuming strong, uninterrupted sunlight. Apple iPhones require a minimum of 1 amp input before it will recognize it as a power source (non-Apple devices typically do not have such requirements). We recommend using one of our Jumpr Slates to store the power gathered from your Kickr II, then using that Jumpr to power your iPhone when you need it.Our Kickr IV is able to put out a max of 1.2 amps (assuming strong, uninterrupted sunlight), so this product may better suit your needs.

I have two questions one being is this panel waterproof and two is it safe to bend
Asked by: Blpancho
We would describe the Kickrs as water resistant. These panels and the USB ports have been waterproofed, so they can be submerged in water, however we can not guarantee the products you plug in will be protected. If your Kickr does get wet, please let it dry before plugging in any devices.Kickr IIs cannot be folded. We recommend the Kickr IV if you need a smaller storage size.

How long will it take for a Kickr II to fully charge an IPhone 5s. Same question for an IPhone 6 and 6S.
Asked by: RIchard
The Kickr II - under direct sunlight - charges your small devices at 1/2 the rate of an outlet. For example - if it takes your iPhone 5/5s phone to charge via a wall outlet about 1.5 hours - it will take the Kickr II twice that amount - so for this example 3 hours.Charging times per phone vary due to what you are running, what apps are consuming power, and if you are currently using the device in anyway during charging.

What connector that comes with Kickr II will work with IPhone V. Same question for IPhone 6.
Asked by: RIchard
All of our Kickr's and Packrs have a full USB port that allows for USB enabled devices/cords to be charged with the Kickr/Packr.For your specific phones - you will use your lightning connector - simply plug it into the USB port and you are good to go!
